Hermes
Parcels can only be handed out with a valid identity document. Hermes accepts:
- identity cards from EU and EEA countries and Switzerland,
- a readable passport (in English or French),
- a travel document for foreigners, stateless persons and refugees,
- a German residence permit or provisional identity documents.
Hermes does not accept other documents (e.g. a driving licence or a health insurance card).
How long is the parcel kept? According to Hermes, 7 working days from arrival at the PaketShop; after that it is returned to the sender.

UPS
Please bring an official photo ID and your tracking number. How long a parcel is kept and what applies in each case is stated in the UPS notification and on the UPS website.
Someone else collects (power of attorney)
Hermes
You can give a person you trust a one-time power of attorney: print out the Hermes form, fill it in and sign it. The power of attorney stays with us at the PaketShop.
According to the form, the authorised person identifies themselves with a valid EU identity card, EU passport, international passport (for citizens of countries outside the EU) or a German residence permit.
A power of attorney is not possible for Ident-Service parcels and, at their request, for some mail-order companies – the form lists which ones.
The power-of-attorney form is a Hermes form in German. We do not translate it; the Hermes original is authoritative.
UPS
Whether and how another person may collect a UPS parcel for you is explained by UPS (notification or UPS website) – or ask us in the kiosk beforehand: 0157 70272393.
Dropping off parcels & returns
